Sliding Door Lock Stuck Closed
Passenger sliding door is stuck in lock position and won t open 2 years ago i replaced the lock actuator i pulled the inside trim off and with some force was able to unlock the door.
Sliding door lock stuck closed. If you can t budge it at all it most likely is the lock. The mechanics of the lock have broken leaving the top section of the door completely. Sometimes patio doors become hard to open even when the track is clean. In order for smooth and easy operation there is some slack that can potentially cause your door to come off the track.
Went back and forth with the assembly lock and unlock worked smoothly. In this video i attempt to open a patio door that has got stuck locked. Power door works fine now. The pictures look like to me that the door slid past the stops.
If possible post a photo of the lock. If you can feel your door moving in a direction other than completely straight from left to right then your sticking door can be caused by a misalignment. There should be a stop on the top or bottom of the door that the doors hits to prevent the door from sliding to far. Open close lock unlock then 2 days later it did it again.
Your sliding door operates on a track to open and close. In addition to cleaning and lubricating sliding door tracks you want to lubricate the door lock.
