Sliding Door Lock Stuck In Locked Position
In the picure below we have marked the location of the 1 8 inch x 3 4 inch vertical slot.
Sliding door lock stuck in locked position. It will not release the door lock. In fact trying the fob or buttons doesn t even produce a click sound. The mechanics of the lock have broken leaving the top section of the door completely. The driver side sliding door is stuck in the closed and locked position.
When the cylinder thumbturn slot is vertical the door is locked. The circuit is designed to lock the sliding door if the fuel door is open or thinks it is open. Like it s not even trying or there is a broken circuit. If the lock pulls back in lock when you manually unlock it then the switch in the fuel fill door is probably not making which means the door is slightly bent.

Graphite powder is used by locksmiths to loosen stuck parts. It is a common problem as the door gets hit with the pump handle. The door is going to have to be opened manually somehow to get to the torx screws to remove the actuator. Sometimes the mechanism can bind if there s pressure on the latch so push the door all the way closed first then try it.
Make sure the door is in the unlocked position. Spray a little graphite powder into the keyhole or any other part of the mechanism and work it around by inserting the key or moving the lock lever. When it is horizontal it is unlocked. The wood can be removed from this area to expose the slot.
The problem is that the actuator is stuck or broken in the locked position.
