Sliding door won t stay open. There may be 2 separate issues going on here for left and right side doors the passenger side may need a door control mechanism and drivers side may be a software glitch. I suspect this is the right sliding door latch sensing switch assembly that is defective to where it is sending false signals to the control module causing it to stay latched hits when you close it manually as well as causing it to only operate a short distance or stays open like what you re seeing. Place it on a hard surface and whack it in the middle with a hammer. Step 1 twist the hinge rail screws a quarter turn each counterclockwise using a flat screwdriver.
One of the most commonly recommended solutions is to remove clean and oil the hinge pins. When a door won t stay open the casing is probably leaning slightly in the wall frame.
