Smartsense multi garage door. Smartsense multi works best if it s within 15 feet 4 5m of the smartthings hub when you connect it. So i logged into the website and updated the type to smartsense garage door multi. Requires the smartthings hub. After that it is always showing open.

Replacing it with a z wave based sensor as recommended by smartthings support. Be sure to clean the surface of the door cabinet or drawer before you place the multi. Also i noticed that this sensor is always reporting incorrect temperature right now it is showing 808. There s a place in the driver where it asks do you want to use this sensor on a garage door i m not sure what to choose here.

I realized this too late and had to remove one sensor mounted on my front door which turned out to be out of range. The leaflet in the box states specifically. The smart sense multi can detect whether an object like a door or drawer is open or closed sense when valuable or off limits items have been moved or tampered with offer temperature readings and feel vibration. I added the multipurpose sensor but there was no option to change this to garage door mode.
