Smartthings Garage Door 2017

So this is my initial cut at just that.

Smartthings garage door 2017. This prevents the garage door from closing on yourself your kids your car reversing. It looks like my current garage door opener is failing and as i replace it i would like to get something that works with smartthings. Lol it is a single car garage. Or you can simply carry a smartsense presence sensor in your car briefcase keychain etc to automatically open or close the garage door when you roll into the driveway.

Given the price and how many doors i have i opted for something cheaper on my doors. Is this the best route to go. In looking at the works with smartthings page it seems that there isn t an opener that inherently connects to smartthings as there are only 2 add on devices that connect to it gocontrol and iris. It seems that samsung doesn t have many options for garage door openers.

I have been using the linear fs20z 1 zwave controller with a smartthings multisensor to control my garage door. After x amount of mins after any specified garage door is opened or after the last motion event is detected the garage doors will be closed. I have changed the st multi sensor to a smartsense garage door multi sensor and created a virtual momentary switch that trigers the linear device. They have to be almost completely horizontal to detect.

Something i m not terribly pleased with is the angle of detection. I actually have used the time to rearrange clean up the garage since there is a baby on the way in 2 5 weeks. Clare only works with integrators dealers. Audio announcements so i hear when home if the garage door is now opened or closed notifications sounds like you have these on your phone push or sms or both this is a great community and a lot of users willing to help others out.

I have the 2 multipurpose sensors working as tilt sensors on my garage doors. Automate other connected devices with smartthings and set them to turn on or off when your gocontrol garage door opener detects that your garage door has been opened or shut. Thank you all for the feedback so i went with the advise of changing the code and also i unplugged the garage door opener so we have not been using the garage. Hey just diving into smartthings. I have switched to a samsung hub for a clarecontrols hub so i can be in total control of my hub. Its has been working for long time now but was wondering if there is a better setup i should have. I purchased a kit that includes 2 multipurpose sensors.

You can either use your smartphone as a presence sensor and set up a geo fence around your home using the free smartthings app.
